In this "Icons of Horror" video, we're talking about the Big G himself, Godzilla! We'll discuss the horrific origins of Godzilla, what the monster represents to the people of Tokyo, and why American attempts at capturing what makes Godzilla unique have all had varying degrees of success. We'll also talk about every single film in the history of the Toho film icon!

There are very few rock acts that lend themselves as much to Halloween as Alice Cooper, and this video is all about The Coop! I show my entire Alice Cooper CD collection, including the box set "The Studio Albums: 1969-1983." If you're a fan of classic Cooper, from "Welcome To My Nightmare" to "Billion Dollar Babies" to "DaDa" (plus a few surprises along the way), then this video is for you!

I recently had the great pleasure of picking up Universal's newly-released The Invisible Man Legacy Collection , which contains all six films from the classic horror series. As I've been making my way through the set, it occurs to me that I've been unfair to this particular franchise; I have relegated the character of The Invisible Man to second-string status, not of the same pedigree as the titans of horror, particularly Bela Lugosi's Dracula, Boris Karloff's Frankenstein, and Lon Chaney Jr.'s Wolf Man. In all honesty, I'm still struggling with whether or not The Invisible Man, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, and The Mummy exist on a lower level than their iconic brethren, but I will also admit that I think I've misjudged The Invisible Man, particularly the first film in the series from 1933. It's time for a Cereal At Midnight review!

For our second foray into the icons of horror, we're talking about a man whose career has become practically synonymous with horror. Of course, it's Vincent Price, a man with a style all his own and a resume that consists of some of the most classic genre films ever. With a career that spans both legitimate studio classics as well as low budget B-movie fare, Vincent Price (Vinnie P. to us) was a master who is most definitely deserving of "icon" status. This Walmart exclusive comic book is an anthology of reprinted material and a brand new 12-page Swamp Thing story by Brian Azzarello and Greg Capullo. We'll put the issue under the microscope and have some Halloween fun!

In this video, the first of a series about the icons of horror, we'll be talking about slashers! Characters like Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Chucky are household names and true slasher icons. We'll be taking a look at their films, as well as a few surprises as we talk about the titans of slasher horror.

Of all the subgenres of horror, slasher films are one of my absolute favorites. In the past,  I've tried to put my finger on why exactly this is, and I think I've decided it's because the slasher film was the flavor du jour of my childhood. Video stores were hungry for content and slashers were easy to produce. You could take a skeleton crew out into the woods or a campground with very little money (slashers usually don't require any fancy special effects) and make a serviceable horror movie in no time flat. That's why slasher films seem to have the worst reputation in all horror; they're cheap, usually require very little imagination, and were a dime a dozen in the 1980s.

It's time for another October treat taste test as we check out the new LIMITED EDITION Chocolate Cake Twinkies from Hostess! Does life taste better on the dark side? Is it acceptable to hand out snack cakes like candy to trick or treaters during Halloween? Should a grown man ever dress up as Twinkie the Kid? All of these questions--and more--will be answered!

Cereal At Midnight goes all in on the Dean Martin Variety Show! From 1965 to 1974,  Dean Martin, aka "The King of Cool," hosted a weekly variety show that was many things: wacky, provocative, topical, and always entertaining. In this video, we'll talk about the show itself as well as the challenges of collecting the many DVDs that have been released over the years! We'll also try to embody just a little bit of the fun and irreverent spirit that made Dean Martin's show so wonderful.

Let's dive into the Erik Larsen/David Michelinie Spider-Man omnibus! Whether you love '90s comics or hate  them, it's hard not to have an opinion about them, and these issues of Amazing Spider-Man are a prime example of everything that made that era for comics so controversial. Right after the final issue in this omnibus, Larsen would go on to create and publish his own creation, Savage Dragon, for Image Comics, becoming a household name and an entrepreneur! But his rise to comic book artist super-stardom all began here in the pages of Spidey for Marvel Comics! From Venom to Doctor Doom to the Sinister Six, Erik Larsen drew (and later wrote) one of the defining runs for the character. Of course, the art wouldn't mean anything without fantastic script work from David Michelinie, one of the great comic book creators. We'll discuss that and more in this video review of the Amazing Spider-Man omnibus of Erik Larsen!
