Comic Book Spotlight: "Atari Force"

Image
In this video, we shine a spotlight on the DC Comics series Atari Force, which ran from 1984-1986. Over the course of 20 issues, the comic book told the story of a ragtag group of survivors who found themselves united under a common cause. Aboard their ship, Scanner One, the Atari Force worked to defeat the Dark Destroyer, a shadowy figure bent on destruction. With such famous creative talent as Gerry Conway, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, Mike Baron, and Eduardo Barreto, Atari Force was a completely standalone title that featured some of comics' biggest talents. For fans of late seventies and early eighties sci-fi/space opera fare such as Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, and Battlestar Galactica.

How I Clean Thrift Store Movies, CDs, and Records (Used Physical Media)

Image
So you've found a bunch of cool stuff at the thrift store, right? Hooray! But finding cool movies, music, and books at local charity shops is only half of the battle. All that stuff is most likely absolutely filthy and could potentially have been donated by someone who had that virus from 28 Days Later! But it's too late! You've handled the goods and now you've exposed your immune system to a mutant strain of some funky disease that has kickstarted the zombie apocalypse! But you can stop that scenario from happening, friends. That's right: by cleaning your thrift store media, you can and will prevent the zombie apocalypse! In this video, we'll go over cleaning books, DVDs, CDs, and even record albums...the old round discs just like grandpa used to play whenever he got that far away look in his eye! This video comes via request from YOU GUYS, so thanks for the video suggestion, and good luck gettin' your thrift on!

Way Off Target: Target's Disappointing MEGO Launch

Image
On July 29th, 2018, Marty Abrams' legendary toy line MEGO returned to the market for the first time in decades. At least, that was the plan. Partnering with the retail giant Target, MEGO was set to launch exclusive figures in stores and online just days after a panel at San Diego Comic Con International. The hype among fans was huge. The anticipation was even bigger. However, when launch day arrived, most fans couldn't find the figures in their local Target stores. Frustrated and disappointed toy enthusiasts took to social media to vent their frustration. A small selection of figures are available online at Target.com, but is the damage done?
