1971's "A Cowboy's Work Is Never Done" is a spaghetti western anthem in need of a movie. With banjo, brass, and a wah-wah guitar that's feels straight from the Spanish deserts by way of Italy, it's so evocative of a certain kind of movie that it becomes impossible to distinguish where art and influence meet. The song also features cunning and suggestive lyrics that serve as a nice counter-point to the wholesome image the duo were projecting each week in their variety show. From the album All I Ever Need is You , which has still not been released in its entirety on CD, this song is so evocative, so well-produced by Snuff Garrett (who specialized in country hits), it's hard not to love.

Raro Video specializes in releasing films from Italy's rich cinematic heritage, including horror, giallo, spaghetti western, and Euro crime films from some of Italy's finest and most prolific filmmakers. Directors like Fernando Di Leo, Umberto Lenzi, Antonio Margheriti, and Franco Prosperi are all featured by Raro Video, and in this episode, we give a background and overview of the label and a guided tour of our Raro Blu-ray collection!

Drive-In Delirium is a series of movie trailer compilations from Australia's Umbrella Entertainment that offer hours and hours of grindhouse, drive-in, action, horror, and exploitation entertainment! Each volume is curated and organized according the theme, star, subject, or mood, and not only provides incredible entertainment, but manages to shine a light on dozens upon dozens of films, both common and obscure. In this video, we review Drive-In Delirium: Dead By Dawn and Drive-In Delirium: With A Vengeance, the two newest entries, which total 16 hours of face-melting awesomeness!

Two spaghetti western gems have been newly restored and are now available on Blu-ray thanks to Mill Creek Entertainment!

Years before Italian film icon Sergio Leone made history with his spaghetti western classics like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West, he cut his teeth in the "peplum" genre. Peplum films were inspired by the epics of Holywood's Golden Age, but NO ONE made movies like the ones coming out of Italy during the fifties and early sixties. Leone's first film, The Colossus of Rhodes, is an exceptional entry-point for those looking to learn more about this unsung genre and the giants who worked within it, and this video explains why!

In this video, we're looking back at some of the coolest Blu-rays of 2018! These physical media releases highlight just what a great year 2018 was for movie fans and collectors, and they have us very excited about the year to come!

It's the first ever live stream from Cereal At Midnight! We talk about movies, music, comics, toys, and tons of other stuff with a few unbelievable surprises.

"Django, have you always be alone?" As a matter of fact, the answer is no! This is just one of dozens of movies featuring Italy's most successful western hero (anti-hero?), coming over a year after the 1966 Spaghetti Western classic from director Sergio Corbucci and starring Franco Nero. Lucky for us, Preparati la bara , which was directed by Ferdinando Baldi, feels like an important and worthy installment in a series of sequels that don't always connect to Corbucci's famous original film. With an alternate origin story, stylish cinematography, and one of my favorite scores in all of the genre, this movie is a Spaghetti Western gem!

These two Blu-ray announcements have made the top of my list.
