  1. I have been watching these films from the last backwards. I have watched the last four so far and I have come to the same opinion. They are good, like 6/10, but not better. I find this weird because the stories are always interesting and to the point. The director uses the widescreen really well with interesting locations. The supporting characters are always good. I have come to the opinion that the fault lies with Randolph Scott. He seems to be sleeping throughout these films. At best he's wooden and dull. The last one I watched was Comanche Station and he was just blown off the screen by Claude Akins. There is just no charisma or vibrancy to his performances. I remember him being much better in earlier films, like Pittsburgh. Does anyone else have any other opinions? I am curious.
