Mill Creek Entertainment has just announced The Birth of Ultraman Collection for Blu-ray release on Ultraman Day, which is July 10, 2020! The set will present some of the best episodes from the original Ultraman show with a choice of original Japanese with English subtitles or English dub! The set will ALSO contain THE BIRTH OF ULTRAMAN, a pre-premiere special that is the very first appearance of Ultraman and would serve as the introduction of the character to the world. The pre-premiere special debuted on July 10, 1966, one week before the Ultraman TV series launched. The artwork for the Blu-ray set comes from Alex Ross and will also be featured on THE RISE OF ULTRAMAN comic book which will be released this September in collaboration with Marvel Comics and Tsuburaya Productions. The next two Blu-ray releases in the Ultraman franchise have been announced for release by Mill Creek Entertainment! Ultraman Ace , which aired from 1972-1973 and is the fifth entry in the series following Return of Ultraman , will be available in both standard and Steelbook versions, both featuring the 52-episode series on six discs. Mill Creek Entertainment has posted the following synopsis: "Alternate Dimension Being Yapool started invading Earth with an entourage of “Terrible-Monsters” that were more powerful than ordinary monsters. The Terrestrial Defense Force was annihilated by Terrible-Monster Verokron. Two youngsters, Seiji Hokuto and Yuko Minami, lost their lives trying to save people from the attack of Verokron. Mill Creek Entertainment has officially announced the release dates for the next two entries in the Ultraman Blu-ray library! Ultraman Orb: The Origin Saga  arrives on February 11 in a two-disc set collecting all twelve episodes plus bonus features, which include the 2017 special Ultra Fight Orb . Two weeks later on February 25th,  Return of Ultraman, the fourth series in the iconic franchise, arrives in a six-disc set collecting al 51 episodes and featuring a choice of Steelbook and Standard packaging. Both shows will also feature a digital redemption voucher for MovieSpree, Mill Creek's proprietary streaming service. Ultraman Orb: The Origin Saga is a prequel to the popular Ultraman Orb  series (which marked the 50th anniversary of Ultraman  and is one of our favorites here at Cereal At Midnight) and shows how the characters came to possess the powers we see in Orb.
